2012 In a Nut Shell



Welcome to my Summer post of 2012,

 That's me, doing one of my favorite things... shopping for books!!!
9 were bought this summer....


Also a tin roosters is on the shopping list!
Seeing as how I can not have the real thing in the Village...

This summer there was a huge outdoor "flee" market...I went twice!
Mr.B also went and bought me this gorgeous bread box. 
Cool thing is, its identical to the one my mom had, many years ago....

                                                               from the flee market
Then....

A Fair Came To Town

                           A great place for children to eat and have lots of out door fun....
                                                      Elijah turned 3 this summer....

                                Bought some proper corn on the cob at the farmers market,
                 and made a wonderful summer dinner, including fried chicken and herbed potatoes....

                              Also took pics of Mr.B. chasing wild Grouse off the highway!
                                                       He has a soft spot for animals...

Of course every summer has a trip to the Heritage Mennonite Museum
(see my side bar for the erecting of this beautiful windmill in our village)

Visitors can also purchase hand made items here as well
I bought

  2. Looks like a classic summer (but the corn looked a bit measly). We ate our first and (probably) last today; it's been a bad year in France for corn!

      The corn looks measly, because turns out its for feed for live stock...lol!

    im pretty sure all the corn out here is for cows, it you cooked it, it would go mushy.
    mom i love your blog. love the pics. its been a great summer. for me, new things are....
    all the above, plus, year year since dad passed away, sibylla starting school, kids learned ti tie shoes, and ride bikes with no training wheels.

    WOW....what a BUSY summer for you!!!Ok....so I hope your daughter is all better now...WOW, surgery with 3 kiddos to take care of...good thing she has you!!!The grands are all growing too fast too....we need to slow them down!!!!They are beautiful...all of them!!!!we are so afraid of the hair cutting thing........YOUR new camera is awesome....great job!!!
    Love your family meals......makes me want to start this up again.....also great looking food!!!
    WOW...that was alot of rain....we have gotten rain twice this week..lots....but not that much....
    and a PARADE....love the kids faces....are they the sweetest???

      Yes, Heather has made a full recovery, thank the Lord! She runs a very busy house with 4 children. Unfortunately has no more time for blogging....
